Pacific Power v. Powercor, Supreme Court of Victoria
During 1999, <e.law> was engaged by Pacific Power to assist with its technology requirements during the 7-month hearing of the Pacific Power Case that was heard before the Supreme Court of Victoria.
<e.law>'s tasks included:
<e.law> worked with a software vendor to create a fully functional electronic appeal book; one which allowed both the parties and the judge to make notes, create chronologies and to easily navigate the browser-based electronic appeal book. The matter settled before the appeal was heard.
<e.law> also produced and managed to collation of the hard copy appeal books (36 volumes double sided).

- Conversion of all material into an electronic format
- Set-up and administration of a local area network for the Legal Team both in the hotel where the team was based and in the Supreme Court of Victoria
- Set-up facilities in court to enable Internet access
- Management of the imaging, OCR’ing, and objective and subjective coding of all documents
- Day-to-day management of the IT aspects of the case
- Assisting counsel with transcript analysis and provided ad hoc reports as was required.
