DeRose v. State of South Australia, Federal Court Native Title Case
During 2000, <e.law> was engaged by the Federal Court of Australia to assist in the design and implementation of a wireless Local Area Network solution that was used in the De Rose Case, which was based in Marla, 400 kms south of Alice Springs. A make-shift courtroom was assembled and disassembled on site each day for hearings. <e.law> was engaged to provide a broad range of services including:

During 2000, <e.law> was engaged by the Federal Court of Australia to assist in the design and implementation of a wireless Local Area Network solution that was used in the De Rose Case, which was based in Marla, 400 kms south of Alice Springs. A make-shift courtroom was assembled and disassembled on site each day for hearings. <e.law> was engaged to provide a broad range of services including:
- Assembling hardware and installing software for 12 laptop computers (2 servers and 10 workstations) that were used by the court and the parties on the desert circuit court
- Set-up mobile document processing bureau for use 'on country'
- Established methodologies for on-site document processing
- Initial document management including document preparation, imaging, electronic assignment of unique identifier, objective coding and quality control – distribution of electronic material to parties, importation into the electronic court book
- Collating data and images used during the hearing and importing these into the court book system
- Providing training for the parties and the judge onsite
- Updating evidence on system each evening – this included replicating to a web server in Sydney to allow secure access via the web for parties scattered around Australia and Europe
- Updating transcript from each day's hearing on court book including hypertext links to documents referred to and exhibits
- Compiling exhibit and MFI lists with hypertext links
- Day-to-day network trouble-shooting and Project Management
- Providing secure, remote access to authorised users in Australia and Europe
